Partial closure of Spring Valley and Green Village roads in Morris County starts Oct. 14
Water Main Replacement Project Anticipated to Be Completed by Dec. 6
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – Beginning Monday, Oct. 14, portions of Spring Valley Road (C.R. 601) and Green Village Road (C.R. 646), between Douglas Road in Harding Township and Britten Road in Chatham Township, will be closed for a water main replacement.
The project, managed by Montana Construction Company under contract with New Jersey American Water, is scheduled to last through Dec. 6, with work hours from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Project Phases: The work will occur in four phases, with detours in place for each phase. Motorists are encouraged to follow posted detour signs and plan alternative routes to avoid delays.
- Phase 1: Britten Road to Fawcett Lane
- Phase 2: Fawcett Lane to Meyersville Road
- Phase 3: Meyersville Road to Village Road
- Phase 4: Village Road to Douglas Road
Detour Routes
Westbound traffic on Green Village Road and northbound traffic on Spring Valley Road:
- Turn right onto Loantaka Way (east)
- Turn right onto Shunpike Road (southeast)
- Turn right onto Green Village Road (southwest)
Eastbound traffic on Green Village Road:
- Turn left onto Shunpike Road (northwest)
- Turn left onto Loantaka Way (west)
- Turn left onto Spring Valley Road (south)
Residents will be provided with access where possible, ensuring safe passage through the work zone. Accommodations will be made for postal services, waste collection, emergency services, and medical pick-up and drop-off.
