Planned emergency power outage scheduled for section of Andover Township on Oct. 29
ANDOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) has planned an emergency power outage for October 29 for the Lake Lenape section of Andover Township, according to Andover Township police.
The outage will occur from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a rain date of October 30, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., police said.
This outage is necessary for the JCP&L forestry department to conduct trimming of inaccessible primary lines between Sussex Avenue and Lenape Avenue near Delaware View. Approximately 61 customers along Sussex Avenue, Lenape Avenue, and parts of Old Creamery Road will be affected, police said.
This work is crucial to complete as a planned outage to prevent further damage to the equipment and to avoid an emergency outage that would take more time to address in this remote area, police said.
Residents affected by the outage should expect a notification via direct messaging from JCP&L. It is recommended that all residents plan accordingly and make any necessary arrangements in advance of the outage.
