Police investigate shots fired in Somerset County borough; no injuries reported

BOUND BROOK BOROUGH, N.J. (Somerset County) — Authorities are investigating a report of shots fired Monday night in Bound Brook, though no injuries have been reported, officials said.

Police were called at about 9:20 p.m. to the area of Vosseller Avenue and West High Street, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.

Officers from the Bound Brook Police Department responded along with detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit to investigate the incident.

Officials said the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, but there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.

Authorities noted the information released is preliminary and may change as the investigation continues.
