Police seek identity of woman in alleged identity theft

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Police seek the identity of a woman in an alleged identity theft.

On Sept. 17, the Readington Township Police Department received a report of identity theft involving a woman who attempted to withdraw money from a Unity Bank in Somerset, police said.

The suspect allegedly presented a passport containing a resident’s name and date of birth in an effort to access the funds, police said.

Authorities are now seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the female in the surveillance photo. Anyone with information about her identity is urged to contact the Readington Township Detective Bureau at 908-923-4460.
