Police seek public’s help after dog found dead in plastic bag in Warren County

LOPATCONG TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Police are asking for the public’s help after a deceased dog was found in a plastic bag along River Road in Lopatcong Township earlier this week.

Officers were dispatched at about 10:22 a.m. Wednesday to the area of River Road (County Route 621) following a report of a dead dog. Police said they discovered a brindle female pit bull partially placed in a trash bag in the woods, not far from the roadside.

Evidence indicates the animal had been left there shortly before the call was made, authorities said.
