MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Morris County) — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying two people of interest after two parking safety devices were damaged along South Street in Morristown.
The town recently partnered with Municipal Parking Services Inc. to launch a pilot initiative using “Safety Sticks” in designated no-parking zones along South Street. The initiative is intended to improve safety for pedestrians and motorists following ongoing complaints.
Morristown patrol officers discovered two of the devices lying in the roadway during the early morning hours of Sept. 5, according to the Morristown Bureau of Police.
Police said a review of available surveillance footage showed two people walking together on South Street at about 11:19 p.m. Sept. 4 when a male allegedly forcibly dislodged the Safety Sticks, rendering them inoperable.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the two people of interest.
