Porch pirate accused of stealing Amazon package in Hunterdon County

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Clinton Township Police are investigating the theft of an Amazon package reported on Dec. 16, by a resident of Wonderview Way.

According to Police Chief Thomas A. DeRosa, the resident received an electronic notification from Amazon confirming that a package had been delivered. However, shortly after the delivery, the resident’s security camera captured footage of a suspect taking the package.

The video shows a vehicle driving up the driveway before a male driver exited, took the package valued at $275, and left the scene. The vehicle was described as a 2006-2011 gray Honda Civic, with no front license plate, a Pennsylvania inspection sticker, and custom silver hubcaps.

The driver, described as an olive-skinned male with a slim build, was approximately 6 feet tall and weighed around 150 pounds. He was wearing a black flat-brim hat, a black sweatshirt, and black jeans.

Clinton Township Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-321-0010, visiting www.CrimeStoppersHunterdon.com, or through the free “P3 Tips” smartphone app.
