The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $975 million after no ticket matched all six numbers in Monday night’s drawing, putting the prize within striking distance of $1 billion.
The estimated jackpot for Wednesday, Aug. 12, carries a cash value of $422.3 million.
At $975 million, the jackpot ranks as the eighth-largest in Powerball history and the game’s largest jackpot of 2026. If no one wins Wednesday and the jackpot continues to grow, it could become the game’s next billion-dollar prize.
The winning numbers in the Monday, Aug. 10, drawing were 6, 37, 54, 55 and 64, with Powerball 10. The Power Play multiplier was 3.
No ticket matched all six numbers, but several players won significant prizes.
Tickets sold in California and Maryland matched all five white balls. The Match 5 prize is normally $1 million, though California prizes are determined on a pari-mutuel basis based on sales and the number of winners.
A Tennessee ticket also matched all five white balls and included the $1 Power Play option, increasing its prize to $2 million.
New Jersey also had a big winner in the separate Double Play drawing. Tickets sold in New Jersey and Colorado each matched all five black balls to win $500,000.
Double Play is a $1 add-on that allows players to use their Powerball numbers in a separate drawing for a chance to win prizes of up to $10 million.
Wednesday’s drawing will mark the 44th consecutive drawing in the current jackpot run. The Powerball jackpot was last hit May 2, when winning tickets in Florida and Texas split a $20 million prize.

If a ticket sold by a participating U.S. lottery wins the jackpot, the winner can choose between an annuity paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years or a lump-sum payment. Both figures are before taxes.
Powerball tickets cost $2 per play. The game is offered in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the United Kingdom.
Powerball said more than half of the proceeds from each $2 ticket remain in the jurisdiction where the ticket is sold to support public programs and services. The game has generated an estimated $38 billion for various causes since 1992, according to Powerball.
Drawings are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. Eastern time.
The odds of winning any Powerball prize are 1 in 24.9. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
