ALLAMUHY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Local businesses will sponsor competing teams in the second annual Project Self-Sufficiency Polo Classic on Saturday, Sept. 12, with proceeds benefiting programs for low-income individuals and families in northwest New Jersey.
Teams sponsored by First Hope Bank and Lakeside Construction will face off at Grayfields Polo Club in Allamuchy Township. Mercedes-Benz of Newton is the presenting sponsor and will have several vehicles on display during the event.
“We are honored that First Hope Bank and Lakeside Construction will once again be sponsoring the two teams in competition during the Project Self-Sufficiency Polo Classic,” commented Project Self-Sufficiency Chief Executive Officer Deborah Berry-Toon. “Last year’s event was a rousing success, and we are excited to be partnering with the Grayfields Polo Club to raise funds for the programs and services which are essential to struggling families in our area.”
The event begins at noon, with VIP ticket holders receiving hors d’oeuvres, cuisine and signature drinks catered by Andre’s Lakeside Dining. Tailgaters and general admission guests will also be able to set up their viewing areas before the match.
The polo match is scheduled to begin at 1:15 p.m. following the national anthem, which will be performed by U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Gianna Perez.
During halftime, spectators will be invited onto the field for the traditional divot stomp while the Mike Lawlor Band performs. Other activities will include competitions for best hat and best tailgate, a silent auction and the naming of the match’s most valuable player and Best Playing Polo.
