NEWTON, N.J. (Sussex County) — Project Self-Sufficiency will host a free Career & Health Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 21, bringing together local employers, educational institutions and health care organizations.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Local employers will be available to discuss job openings, while educational institutions will provide information about academic and training opportunities. Representatives from area health care organizations will also offer information and resources focused on the health and well-being of children and families.
Project Self-Sufficiency Career Center staff will provide additional job-search assistance, including mock interviews. A gift card will also be awarded to one Career & Health Fair attendee.
“We encourage anyone who is interested in advancing their career and improving their health to attend this unique event,” commented Project Self-Sufficiency Executive Director Deborah Berry-Toon. “Attendees can get tips for better health and wellness, learn about employment opportunities and options for furthering their education, and explore the resources they need to move forward with their job searching process.”
Participating employers, educational institutions and organizations include Abilities of Northwest Jersey, American Red Cross, Avenues in Motion, Bayada Home Health Care, Bridgeway Behavioral Health Services, Center for Family Service, Child Mind Institute, Cutting Edge Academy, Employment Horizons, Express Employment Professionals, FedEx Freight, Health Village, IBEW Local 102 JATC, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Mountain Creek Resort and NJ4S Mental Health Association.
Other participants include the New Jersey Commission for the Blind & Visually Impaired; New Jersey Department of Children & Families, Division of Child Protection & Permanency; New Jersey Department of Corrections; New Jersey Department of Health, Biomonitoring Program; New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services; New Jersey Judiciary; New Jersey Sharing Network; and Partnership for Maternal & Child Health of Northern New Jersey.
Preferred Care at Home of Northwest New Jersey, Primerica, Provident Protection Plus, Sevita Health, ShopRite RoNetco, Sussex County Educational Services Commission Project SEARCH, Techflex, Thorlabs, the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, Visiting Angels, Winter4Kids, YMCA Fairview Lake Camps and Zufall Health are also expected to participate.
