Readington Township Police honored with Safety Champion Award, Safe Routes recognition

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Readington Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit has been recognized with the Safety Champion Award by goHunterdon for its commitment to promoting roadway safety.

In addition, the township earned Bronze-level Safe Routes to School State Recognition for efforts to create safer, more walkable, and bike-friendly streets.

Accepting the honors on behalf of the department were Chief Steve Rindock, Lt. Jason Phares, Cpl. Greg Wester, Sfc. Carlos Ferreiro, and Mayor Adam Mueller.

“This recognition highlights our department’s ongoing commitment to traffic safety, community partnerships, and innovative programs that keep Readington’s roadways safe for everyone,” the department said in a statement. “We are honored and will continue working hard to promote safety and protect our community.”
