Revealed: New Jersey’s top 10 most influential musicians

NEW JERSEY – The greatest musicians of all-time have been revealed following a study examining who New Jerseyans believe to be the most influential in history.

Michael Jackson was crowned as the most influential musician of all time, with more than two in five New Jerseyans saying the King of Pop has left the most prominent mark in the history of music.

New research from BonusFinder.com collected data from over 3,000 Americans and asked respondents which artists and bands they consider to have been the most influential.

The Rolling Stones took second place in the rankings, scoring more than one in four (28.1%) of the votes while Bob Marley placed third with quarter (25%) of votes.

Fourth place ended in a tie between the Beatles, Elvis Presley and Elton John, who all took home more than one in five (21.9%) of the votes from the Garden State.

The top 10 was completed by Led Zeppelin (18.8%), Whitney Houston (15.6%), Stevie Wonder (15.6%) and Madonna (15.6%).

Nationwide, the Beatles gained the majority of votes in 18 different states, leaving Michael Jackson in second place with 17 states.

Elvis Presley placed third with 11 states favoring the King of Rock n’ Roll, while Dolly Parton was crowned as the most influential musician among West Virginians.
