Roxbury Township School District launches Stopfinder app to let parents track student bus locations in real time

ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – The Roxbury Township Board of Education is launching a new app called Stopfinder that will allow parents and guardians to accurately track their children’s school bus in real-time. The easy-to-use app is secured so that only authorized users can access school bus information.

Stopfinder, developed by the district’s routing software provider, Transfinder, is free for parents and guardians. It allows users to customize notifications about their child’s bus location using GeoAlerts. The app also functions as a two-way communication tool, giving parents a fast and convenient way to contact district transportation officials and receive instant updates.

“We are pleased to offer this service to families in our district,” district officials said. “We believe Stopfinder will play a critical role in reducing anxiety because parents will receive updates instantly and have a direct way to communicate with the transportation office.”

Officials also noted that the tool will help the transportation office become more efficient and responsive, especially by answering one of the most common concerns: “Where is my child’s school bus?” The two-way communication capability is also expected to strengthen community engagement.

Invites to activate Stopfinder accounts will be sent out on a rolling basis, starting with several elementary schools and gradually expanding to include the high school. Parents are advised to check their spam folders for an email from Transfinder. Additional information is available on the district website under the Stopfinder tab within the Transportation section.

In addition to real-time bus location updates and two-way messaging, Stopfinder also provides access to bus stop and schedule information.

“Stopfinder was created with care by parents, for parents,” said Antonio Civitella, President and CEO of Transfinder. “Just like everything related to student transportation, we had to get this right. Parents’ expectations are understandably high. We believe Stopfinder will give them the peace of mind they crave—knowing their children are where they’re supposed to be.”
