SEA LIFE New Jersey divers make a splash with underwater pumpkin carving this Halloween
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (Bergen County) — Halloween fun is going deep at SEA LIFE New Jersey, where divers are celebrating the season by carving pumpkins underwater inside the aquarium’s massive 186,000-gallon Ocean Exhibit — surrounded by sharks, stingrays, and thousands of colorful fish.
The one-of-a-kind event, part of the aquarium’s fall festivities, challenges divers to transform pumpkins into underwater masterpieces while fully suited in dive gear and immersed with marine life.
“If you think carving a pumpkin on dry land is tough, imagine doing it underwater, surrounded by sea creatures,” SEA LIFE officials said in a statement. “Not only is pumpkin carving fun for our aquarists and guests, but the animals also love to watch the team in action.”
Guests can catch the next underwater pumpkin carving demonstrations on October 23, 28, and 30 at 10:30 a.m., where divers will once again show off their creative — and aquatic — carving skills.
The interactive experience takes place at SEA LIFE New Jersey, located inside the American Dream mall.
