Silvestri Sweets expands recall of Choceur Holiday Bark sold at ALDI that may contain allergens

Silvestri Sweets Inc. of Geneva, Illinois, is expanding a voluntary recall of its 5-ounce bags of Choceur-branded Holiday Bark sold nationwide through Aldi grocery stores because the products may contain undeclared allergens, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

The expanded recall involves Choceur Cookie Butter Holiday Bark, which may contain undeclared pecans, and Choceur Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Bark, which may contain undeclared wheat. People with allergies to pecans or wheat could face serious or potentially life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the affected products, the FDA said.

The expansion includes additional lot numbers and “best by” dates that were not included in the original recall.

The recalled Choceur Cookie Butter Holiday Bark, sold in 5-ounce stand-up pouch bags, includes the following lot numbers and dates: Lot No. 28525, Best By 05/2026; Lot No. 29925, Best By 05/2026; and Lot No. 30625, Best By 06/2026.

The recalled Choceur Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Bark, also sold in 5-ounce stand-up pouch bags, includes Lot No. 28525, Best By 08/2026; Lot No. 29925, Best By 08/2026; and Lot No. 30625, Best By 09/2026.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the products to date, the FDA said.

According to the agency, the expanded recall was initiated after the company discovered that Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Bark had been packaged in Cookie Butter Holiday Bark packages, resulting in undeclared pecans. A subsequent investigation indicated the issue may have been caused by a temporary breakdown in the company’s production and packaging process.

Consumers who purchased the recalled products are urged to discard them.
