Space Farms Zoo and Museum in Sussex County to open for 2026 season March 28
WANTAGE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Space Farms Zoo and Museum will open for the 2026 season on Saturday, March 28, offering visitors a self-guided experience featuring hundreds of animals and exhibits.
The zoo, located at 218 County Road 519 in Wantage Township, will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with last admission at 4 p.m., through Nov. 1.
Space Farms features more than 500 animals representing 100 species, including one of the largest private collections of North American animals in natural surroundings in the United States. The zoo also houses a variety of exotic species and is known internationally for its bear and lion cub breeding programs.
Visitors can explore the grounds at their own pace and interact with select farm animals in designated areas. Children can also encounter free-roaming chickens, ducks and geese throughout the property.
Admission includes access to both the zoo and on-site museums. The attraction operates rain or shine, and tickets are nonrefundable.
