Sussex County Caregiver Expo to connect families with support services, resources
LAFAYETTE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — The Sussex County Division of Senior Services will host its 2026 Caregiver Expo in October to connect caregivers with services and resources available throughout the county.
The free event will be held from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at Farmstead Golf and Country Club, 88 Lawrence Road in Lafayette Township.
The expo is designed for people who provide care for an elderly or disabled family member or friend. Caregivers may assist with shopping, transportation, personal care, housekeeping, nutritional needs, legal and financial matters and coordination of medical care.
County officials said providing ongoing care can present numerous challenges, and caregivers may not know what assistance they need until a need arises or may be unaware of services available locally.
The expo will give caregivers an opportunity to learn about resources for specialized care, self-care and planning for future needs. Information will be available on home care services, transportation, nutrition programs, medical equipment, social services, legal services, respite care, support groups and other programs.
Participating agencies will also provide brief overviews of their services to help attendees learn about the range of support available in Sussex County.
The Division of Senior Services said the resources are intended to support caregivers as they help seniors remain as independent as possible in their homes and communities.
Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be provided.
Admission is free, but advance registration is required. To register, contact the Sussex County Division of Senior Services at 973-579-0555, ext. 1225, fax 973-579-0550 or email kking@sussex.nj.us.
