Sussex County caregiver expo to highlight support services, resources

LAFAYETTE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Caregivers in Sussex County will have the chance to connect with local resources at the 2025 Caregiver Expo, scheduled for Oct. 23 in Lafayette Township.

The event, sponsored by the Sussex County Department of Health and Human Services’ Division of Senior Services, aims to support residents who provide care for elderly or disabled family members and friends. Caregivers often help with transportation, medical coordination, personal care, nutrition, legal and financial matters, and household tasks.

Officials said caregiving can be demanding and many do not know what services are available until a crisis arises. The expo will offer information on home care services, nutrition programs, medical equipment, social and legal services, respite programs, transportation, and support groups.

The program will feature short presentations from agencies in attendance, giving caregivers an overview of the services available. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be provided.

The expo will take place from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Farmstead Golf and Country Club, 88 Lawrence Road. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required.

To register, call the Division of Senior Services at 973-579-0555 ext. 1277, fax 973-579-0550, or email seniorservices@sussex.nj.us.
