The county said the portal is intended to give community members an opportunity to help shape its response to the crisis and identify ways the funding could be used to protect people still affected by opioid use.

Sussex County is expected to receive opioid settlement funding over the next several years. The money must be used for opioid abatement strategies outlined by the state of New Jersey.

The public can submit comments through the county’s online opioid settlement fund portal through Oct. 22.
