Green Township Volunteer Fire Department launches GoFundMe to restore historic 1926 Hahn fire engine

GREEN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – The Green Township Volunteer Fire Department has taken possession of its first fire engine, a 1926 Hahn, marking a significant milestone in the department’s history.

Originally purchased from the Florham Park Fire Department in 1947, this fire engine served the residents of Green Township until 1965, when it was sold to a private party. Remarkably, the truck remained indoors throughout its private ownership, preserving its condition until its return to the GTFD on Oct. 6, 2024.

The department is now raising funds to get the historic engine running and drivable. If they surpass their initial fundraising goal, plans for a full restoration will be initiated.
