Sussex County woman charged with DUI after Route 206 traffic stop

PEAPACK AND GLADSTONE, N.J. (Somerset County) — A Sussex County woman was arrested earlier this month after allegedly driving under the influence of prescription medications on Route 206in Peapack and Gladstone, according to police.

On July 12, an officer observed a white Jeep traveling northbound on Route 206 near Holland Road, reportedly straddling the shoulder and travel lane. Police said the vehicle continued to swerve across the white fog line and accelerated to 70 mph in a posted 50 mph zone.

The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop near Pottersville Road and identified the driver as Maegan Henderson, 22, of Stanhope Borough. According to police, Henderson was allegedly under the influence of multiple prescribed medications.

After failing several field sobriety tests, Henderson was arrested and transported to police headquarters. She was charged with driving while under the influence, and later released to a responsible person pending court appearance.
