Three Atlantic Health hospitals named among America’s Best by Healthgrades
Three Atlantic Health medical centers have been named among America’s Best Hospitals for 2026, according to new research released by Healthgrades, a leading resource used by consumers when searching for hospitals and physicians.
Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center and Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center were again named among America’s 50 Best Hospitals, while Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center earned recognition among America’s 250 Best Hospitals.
“These recognitions reinforce what Atlantic Health patients experience every day – our unwavering commitment to deliver safe, high-quality care,” said Saad Ehtisham, President and CEO of Atlantic Health. “I commend each of our clinicians and every member of our team on their tireless efforts to raise the standard for quality across New Jersey and throughout the nation.”
For the third consecutive year, Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center are the only two hospitals in New Jersey named among America’s 50 Best Hospitals. The designation represents Healthgrades’ highest honor for clinical excellence and places both hospitals in the top 1% nationwide for overall clinical performance across the most common conditions and procedures.
Morristown Medical Center has been included among the 50 Best Hospitals for the eleventh consecutive year, from 2016 through 2026, while Overlook Medical Center, located in Summit, has earned the recognition for the seventh consecutive year, from 2020 through 2026.
Chilton Medical Center’s inclusion among the 250 Best Hospitals marks its fourth consecutive year on the list, from 2023 through 2026, placing it in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance.
To determine the 2026 rankings, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for more than 30 of the most common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals across the United States.
“This year’s America’s Best Hospitals list gives patients a clearer picture of where high-quality care is delivered most consistently,” said Alana Biggers, MD, MPH, medical advisor at Healthgrades. “Patients can feel confident in their decision to seek care at Atlantic Health, an organization that is setting the standard for clinical excellence nationwide.”
Healthgrades said the rankings are intended to help consumers identify top-performing hospitals as variation in care quality continues to increase nationwide.
