Three-vehicle crash on I-80 in Morris County leaves box truck overturned, one injured

ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A box truck flipped over in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in Morris County on Thursday afternoon, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash happened at around 1:58 p.m. on I-80 westbound at milepost 34.8 in Rockaway Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Freightliner tractor-trailer, a Subaru passenger vehicle, and an Isuzu box truck were all traveling westbound on I-80 when a collision occurred between the three vehicles. This collision caused the Isuzu box truck to overturn, Lebron said.

The driver of the Subaru suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital, Lebron said.

The accident remains under investigation and no additional information was available, Lebron said.
