Travel restrictions for portions of I-78 in Warren County July 8-12

WARREN COUNTY, NJ – The following off-peak travel restrictions are scheduled to be implemented during the week of July 8 for the roadway resurfacing project now underway along the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission-controlled I-78 toll bridge and its approaches in Phillipsburg, Alpha Borough and Pohatcong Township:

Daytime:

  • I 78 westbound from NJ milepost 0.8 to the Pennsylvania side of the I-78 Toll Bridge – single lane closure (two of three travel lanes open) for conduit installation work
    • 6:30 a.m.  to 3:00 p.m. – Tuesday, July 9; Wednesday, July 10,; Thursday, July 11; and Friday, July 12.

Overnight:

  • I-78 eastbound from the Pennsylvania side of the I-78 Toll Bridge to milepost 4.1 (Exit 3 for Routes 22 and 173) — two travel lanes closed (one of three lanes open) for milling, paving and/or lane striping work
    • 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, to 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 9
    • 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, to 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 10
    • 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 to 5:00 a.m. Thursday, July 11
  • I-78 westbound from the last New Jersey exit (Exit 3 for Routes 22 and 173) two travel lanes closed (one of three lanes open) for milling, paving, and/or lane striping work
    • 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, to 7:00 a.m. Thursday, July 11
    • 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 11, to 7:00 a.m. Friday, July 12.

Brief travel delays are possible during lane closure periods. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds when approaching lane-closure taper points and exercise caution traveling through active work zones, the commission said.

The schedule is subject to change due to weather, emergencies, etc., the commission said.
