MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Two people were arrested following a traffic stop Tuesday morning in Mount Olive Township.
At about 11:15 a.m. on May 13, an officer observed a white Cadillac make an illegal left turn off Route 46 east into the Village Green Shopping Center. The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and identified the driver as Julio A. Ramirez, 44, of Paterson, police said.
A check of Ramirez’s credentials revealed his driver’s license was suspended and that he had active warrants totaling $1,400 out of Saddle Brook and Fair Lawn. He was arrested, police said.
The passenger was identified as Elizabeth J. Womack, 37, of Andover. While speaking with Womack, the officer observed two pipes containing suspected crack cocaine tucked into the waistband of her pants. A further search of her person revealed a third pipe and additional drug paraphernalia, police said.
Womack was also found to have multiple active warrants totaling $7,500 out of Roxbury Township and Green Township. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a plastic bag containing suspected crack cocaine, police said.
Ramirez was charged with driving while suspended, failure to maintain lane, and improper turns. He was released on the warrants pending a court appearance.
Womack was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), Schedule I-IV, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance.
