Two charged with prostitution offenses after search warrant executed at Sussex County spa

HARDYSTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Two people from New York were charged Tuesday following a court-authorized search of a Hardyston Township spa as part of an investigation into alleged illegal activity, authorities said.

The Hardyston Township Police Department executed a search warrant Feb. 17 at Aroma Spa, located at 3612 State Route 23, after receiving information about suspected unlawful conduct at the business.

Police arrested Mihwa Bang, 55, of Flushing, New York, and charged her with prostitution, a disorderly persons offense.

Won Youngok, 63, also of Flushing, was charged with third-degree promoting prostitution and third-degree money laundering.

The investigation began after the department received information regarding suspected illegal conduct at the establishment, police said. Additional details about the investigation were not immediately released.

Hardyston police thanked the West Milford Police Department, Sussex County Narcotics Task Force, New Jersey State Police, Andover Township Police Department, Franklin Borough Police Department, Hopatcong Borough Police Department and the state Division of Consumer Affairs for assisting in the investigation.
