Two separate shoplifting incidents lead to three arrests at Morris County Target store

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (June 10, 2025) — Police made three shoplifting arrests at the Target store in Washington Township in recent days, authorities said.

In the first incident, officers responded after store personnel detained a male suspect, whose name was not released, from Hackettstown who allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for several hundred dollars’ worth of health supplements.

The suspect was stopped by Target’s Asset Protection Team and taken into custody without incident. He was transported to police headquarters, charged with shoplifting, and released pending a court appearance in Washington Township Municipal Court.

The second incident occurred on June 9, when officers were called to the same store for a reported shoplifting in progress. After a brief investigation, two female suspects, whose names were not released, from Binghamton, New York, were arrested for allegedly stealing approximately $1,300 worth of cosmetics and beauty products.

Both were released on complaint summonses and are also awaiting court appearances.
