UPDATE: Kenvil man identified as bicyclist killed in Morris County crash

ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Authorities have identified the bicyclist who died after being struck by a vehicle Monday evening on Route 46 as Juan Rodriguez, 42, of Kenvil.

The crash occurred Sept. 22 around 6:13 p.m. on Route 46 eastbound, east of Berkshire Valley Road. Rodriguez was initially found conscious with a suspected head injury and transported to Morristown Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead overnight, officials said.

The vehicle involved, a Kia Soul, remained at the scene, and the driver is cooperating with investigators, according to authorities. No charges have been filed at this time.

Route 46 was closed in both directions from Dell Avenue to Berkshire Valley Road following the crash but reopened around 8 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing by the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit and the Roxbury Police Department.
