Vandalism causes estimated $1,000 in damage to soccer field at park in Warren County

HOPE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — New Jersey State Police are investigating after a soccer field at Swayze Mill Park in Hope Township was damaged by a vehicle Tuesday night, according to township officials.

The township reported the vandalism Wednesday morning, saying someone drove onto the soccer field and caused extensive damage.

The field is used by some of the township’s youngest soccer players, officials said.

The township estimates repairs to the field will cost about $1,000.

New Jersey State Police have opened an investigation into the vandalism.

An anonymous donor is offering a $500 reward for information that helps identify the person or people responsible.
