Volunteers sought for litter cleanup at Port Warren Park in Stewartsville

STEWARTSVILLE, N.J. (Warren County) — The Mountain Lake Community Association is seeking volunteers to help clean up Port Warren Park in Stewartsville next month as part of an effort to beautify the park and support the organization’s eligibility for a Clean Communities grant.

The litter cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon at Port Warren Park, located at 477 County Road 519 along the historic Morris Canal Greenway.

According to the Mountain Lake Community Association, the event will give volunteers an opportunity to help remove litter, improve the park’s appearance and enjoy one of Warren County’s recreational areas.

The association said participation in the cleanup will also help the organization qualify for a Clean Communities grant, making a strong volunteer turnout especially important.

Volunteers interested in participating are asked to notify the association by Wednesday, Oct. 28, so organizers can plan accordingly. Those interested can email MLCA@mt-lake.org or send a message to the Mountain Lake Community Association through its Facebook page.

Gloves, trash bags and litter grabbers will be provided at the event, allowing participants to assist with the cleanup without bringing their own supplies.

The association is encouraging community members to take part in the three-hour effort to help preserve and maintain the park and its surroundings.
