Warren County Commissioner Director James R. Kern III visits Top Notch Equestrian Centre
HARMONY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Warren County Commissioner Director James R. Kern III last Friday visited Top Notch Equestrian Centre in Harmony Township, which also is home to the Lafayette College Equestrian Team from Easton, PA.
Top Notch runs its own Interscholastic Equestrian Team as a member of the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Zone 11 and competes among other IEA teams within the zone and region. No experience is required before joining and members range from age 11-17 and from beginners to those competing at high-level events. The team participates in at least five IEA horse shows each year within Zone 11.
Commissioner Kern watched Top Notch owner and head trainer Kelly Poff give a lesson to two members of the Lafayette College Equestrian Team, senior and Show Captain Anna Paulsen and freshman Meena Hosaisy.

“Visiting Top Notch was a great experience, it was especially rewarding to witness their partnership with neighboring Lafayette College’s Equestrian Team and to get the chance to see them practice,” Kern said. “Places like this help to maintain Warren County’s rural atmosphere and culture, Top Notch also exemplifies how the bond between horse and rider reflects the values of hard work, dedication, and our connection to nature.”
In its mission to cultivate adept riders for the Hunter, Equitation, Jumper, and Dressage disciplines, Top Notch welcomes individuals of all ages and skill levels. Whether participants are aspiring to excel in competitive show environments or prefer a more relaxed “weekend warrior” approach, Top Notch seeks to accommodate these diverse interests to grow the sport of Equestrian.
