Warren County Commissioner Kern tours historic Wyckoff’s Christmas Tree Farm ahead of holiday season
WHITE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — With the holiday season nearing, Warren County Commissioner James R. Kern III visited Wyckoff’s Christmas Tree Farm on Friday, Nov. 7, touring the historic property and learning more about its longstanding operation.
The Wyckoff family farm dates back to 1839, but Christmas tree production did not begin until 1958. The first crop was harvested in 1967, and by 1970 the number of trees planted increased each year. Today, nearly 170 acres are dedicated to Christmas trees, with more than 7,000 ready for harvest each season.
“It’s always a pleasure to visit Wyckoff’s Christmas Tree Farm,” Kern said, adding, “for generations they’ve been growing trees and providing treasured memories, and it remains one of Warren County’s most beloved places to kick off the Christmas season.”
The farm will hold a soft opening for the season on Nov. 22 and 23, with full operations beginning on Black Friday. More information is available at wyckoffs.com.

Warren County has long been known as a destination for finding a fresh-cut pine, fir or spruce, earning the region the nickname “Christmas Tree Belt of New Jersey.” The New Jersey State Grand Champion Christmas Tree is often grown in the county, and Wyckoff’s is a 12-time state champion and two-time national champion grower. Visitors travel from across the region and neighboring states for choose-and-cut Christmas trees.
Tree farms in the county range from small family plots to some of New Jersey’s largest operations. Wyckoff’s and other farms are listed on Warren County’s Explore Warren tourism website, where visitors can plan a trip to select a tree and browse related holiday items including wreaths, evergreen roping, grave blankets, ornaments, handcrafted gifts and more.
