Warren County man charged with DWI after crashing through yards and fences

WASHINGTON BOROUGH, N.J. (Warren County) — A 24-year-old Phillipsburg man was arrested last month after police said he drove off the road and crashed through several yards and fences, causing significant property damage.

According to the Washington Township Police Department, officers were dispatched around 3:22 a.m. on Oct. 25 to West Church Street in Washington Borough for a report of a motor vehicle crash with unknown injuries.

When officers arrived, they found that a vehicle had left the roadway and driven through multiple residential yards and fences. Following an investigation, the driver, whose name was not released, was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated.

Police said the driver was also issued several motor vehicle summonses and given a mandatory court date.
