Warren County man facing DUI, drug charges after allegedly ‘nodding out’ behind wheel while driving, police say

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Warren County man facing DUI, drug charges after allegedly “nodding out” behind wheel while driving in Hackettstown, according to police

On Friday, Feb. 23, at around 2:39 p.m., police responded to East Baldwin Street for a report of a male “nodding out” while driving, police said.

An officer located the vehicle and observed the suspect, later identified as Joseph Kovalovsky, 46, of Washington Borough, sitting in the driver seat of the vehicle, police said.

Through an investigation it was determined that Kovalovsky was allegedly operating the vehicle under the influence, police said.

A search incident to arrest yielded various CDS containers, syringes, and wax folds containing suspected CDS residue inside Kovalovsky’s vehicle, police said.

Kovalovsky was charged with possession of prescription legend drugs, possession, use or being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle during period of license suspension, driving under the influence, driving after license suspended or revoked, drug possession by a motor vehicle operator, reckless driving, and careless driving.

He was then lodged in the Warren County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance, police said.
