Warren County man sentenced to 8 years in prison for sexual assault, child endangerment
BELVIDERE, N.J. (Warren County) — A 39-year-old Phillipsburg man has been sentenced to eight years in state prison following his conviction on sexual assault and child endangerment charges involving a victim who was younger than 13, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.
Superior Court Judge Reema Sethi Kareer sentenced Kevin Micucci on Wednesday, Aug. 26, following a jury trial earlier this year.
Micucci was sentenced to eight years in New Jersey State Prison for sexual assault by contact and eight years for endangering the welfare of a child. The sentences will run concurrently, authorities said.
Micucci must serve 85% of the sentence, or six years and eight months, before becoming eligible for parole. He will also be subject to Megan’s Law and parole supervision for life.
The court merged Micucci’s lewdness conviction into the sexual assault and child endangerment convictions for sentencing purposes.
A Warren County jury found Micucci guilty Feb. 20 of second-degree sexual assault by contact, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree lewdness.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the sexual acts occurred in 2018 and 2019 when the victim, who was known to Micucci, was younger than 13.
The Prosecutor’s Office also credited detectives from the Warren County Special Victims Unit and Phillipsburg Police Department, along with Warren County victim advocates, for their assistance in the case.
