WILLIAMS TOWNSHIP, Pa. (Northampton County) — A Warren County man was killed and two East Bangor residents were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening in Northampton County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The crash happened about 7:07 p.m. Aug. 9 in the 200 block of South Delaware Drive, Route 611, in Williams Township, police said.
Nathan D. Giamoni, 48, of Phillipsburg, was traveling south on a 2014 Harley-Davidson Low Rider while a 2024 Volvo XC60 was traveling north, according to a crash report from Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast.
Police said Giamoni lost control of the motorcycle for an unknown reason and was thrown from it.
The Volvo then struck the motorcycle in the northbound lane of South Delaware Drive, according to police. Both vehicles became fully engulfed in flames and came to rest in the northbound lane.
Giamoni, who police said was wearing a motorcycle helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Northampton County Coroner’s Office.
The Volvo was driven by Jared G. Getz, 57, of East Bangor. He was taken by Easton Emergency Squad to St. Luke’s Hospital Anderson Campus with what police classified as a possible injury.
A passenger in the Volvo, Ellen C. Getz, 55, also of East Bangor, was taken to the same hospital with a suspected minor injury, according to police. Both were wearing lap and shoulder belts.
Pennsylvania State Police said the crash remains under investigation.
Williams Township Fire Department and Easton Emergency Squad assisted at the scene.
