Warren County woman found slumped over in car charged with DWI

LOPATCONG TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A Warren County woman is facing charges after she was allegedly found slumped over the center console of her car in Lopatcong Township.

On Dec. 19, 2024, at around 5:20 p.m., police responded to 201 Strykers Road after receiving a report of a female slumped over inside a vehicle, police said.

Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle parked in a handicap parking space directly in front of Good Guy Vapes. Inside, they observed a woman slumped over the center console. Officers were able to wake the driver, who was identified as April Walker of Phillipsburg, police said.

An open container of alcohol was found in the vehicle next to Walker, who appeared visibly intoxicated. Walker failed sobriety tests at the scene and was subsequently taken into custody for driving while intoxicated, police said.

Walker later refused to provide breath samples, as required by law in New Jersey. She was issued traffic summonses for driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, and parking in a handicap space without a valid placard. Walker was released to a friend and given a court appearance date, police said.
