WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — A Warren Hills Regional High School football player was airlifted to a hospital after suffering an injury during a game Monday, according to Superintendent Nicholas Diaz.
The student-athlete sustained an injury that required emergency medical attention and was transported by helicopter to Morristown Medical Center for further evaluation, Diaz said in a message to the Warren Hills community Tuesday.
“We are grateful to share that the student was released to the care of his family,” Diaz said.
The district did not release the student’s identity or additional information about the circumstances of the injury, citing the privacy of the student and his family.
Diaz thanked the district’s athletic trainers, coaches and staff, along with first responders and medical personnel who assisted during the emergency.
“Their quick and professional response was greatly appreciated,” Diaz said.
“Most importantly, we continue to keep our student-athlete and his family in our thoughts and prayers as we wish him well in his recovery,” Diaz said.
