Weis Markets donates $18,000 to New Jersey region food banks as part of 18th annual Fight Hunger program
NEW JERSEY – Weis Markets has donated $18,000 to two New Jersey regional food banks as part of the company’s 18th annual Fight Hunger program, the company announced Friday.
The donations benefit the Community Food Bank of New Jersey and NORWESCAP. Weis Markets said the contribution reflects both customer and associate donations collected at checkout throughout 2025, along with a significant corporate gift.
“Each year, we’re amazed by the incredible support our customers and associates show for our Fight Hunger campaign. This is a combined customer and company donation. We deeply appreciate our Weis team and shoppers for coming together to make a difference,” said Bob Gleeson, Weis Markets Chief Operation Officer. “Given the current climate, contributions like this are more important than ever. No family should have to worry about when their next meal will be, and food banks play a vital role in helping us address food insecurity in our local communities. We’re proud to support our regional food banks to help close the gap for many families, so they do not need to choose between food and other essentials.”
This year’s Fight Hunger program raised a total of $555,000 for 18 partner food banks across the company’s seven-state market area. Weis Markets said it will present additional donations to several of its largest regional food bank partners as part of the ongoing campaign.
