Whippany Park High School Theatre to present “Puffs,” a magical comedy spoof Nov. 14–15

WHIPPANY, N.J. (Morris County) — Whippany Park High School Theatre will present its fall production, “Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic,” a fast-paced, family-friendly parody of the beloved wizarding world by playwright Matt Cox.

Showtimes are set for Friday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Whippany Park High School Theatre, located at 165 Whippany Road. The two-act play runs about two hours, including one intermission.

For seven years, a certain boy wizard went to a certain wizard school and conquered evil. “This, however, is not his story,” the school’s announcement said. “This is the story of the Puffs… who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world.”

The production, presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc., features fewer than a dozen students who will take on more than 50 characters, with some performers juggling up to 12 roles each.

Tickets are $15 for general admission and $12 for senior citizens, children and students. They can be purchased online at ticketleap.events/tickets/wphs-0/puffs or during box office hours at the school:

  • Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon
  • Monday, Nov. 3, from 3 to 4 p.m.
  • Monday, Nov. 10, from 3 to 4 p.m.
