Woman charged with DWI after hit-and-run crash in Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Budd Lake woman has been charged following a hit-and-run crash in Mount Olive Township, authorities said.

Police responded April 5 at approximately 9:30 p.m. to Elizabeth Lane in the Budd Lake section for a report of a motor vehicle accident in which the driver fled the scene.

Upon arrival, officers found a parked vehicle that had been struck from behind and pushed into a second vehicle parked in a residential driveway. A witness reported seeing a black Dodge Charger leaving the area after the crash.

Officers later located the vehicle at a residence on William Street and identified the driver as Dani L. Kriscunas, 45, of Budd Lake.

During the investigation, authorities said the driver showed signs of impairment and was asked to perform field sobriety tests before being taken into custody.

Kriscunas was transported to police headquarters and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident. She was later released to a sober driver pending a court hearing.
