Vehicle rollover, tanker fire keep Readington first responders busy, officials say
READINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Readington Township first responders handled two serious emergencies Monday, including a rollover crash and a fuel tanker fire, township officials said.

The first incident occurred when a vehicle lost control near Potterstown Road and rolled multiple times in the median. The driver sustained injuries and was airlifted to a hospital for medical treatment, officials said.
Shortly afterward, emergency crews responded to a fire involving the brakes of a fully loaded fuel tanker at a gas station on Main Street. Officials said the fire spread quickly, prompting authorities to issue a shelter-in-place alert out of an abundance of caution.
Fire crews arrived quickly, extinguished the flames and cooled the tanker to prevent further danger, township officials said. No injuries were reported.
Township officials praised first responders and police for their swift and professional response to both incidents.
“Thank you to all of our first responders and the police department for your bravery, professionalism, and quick action when it mattered most,” officials said.
