
2 crew members injured after ambulance crash in Sussex County
VERNON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Two crew members aboard a Vernon Emergency Medical Services (VEMS) ambulance suffered non-life-threatening injuries after the vehicle was involved in a crash Sunday afternoon in Vernon Township, authorities said.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m. July 26 on Lake Wallkill Road, according to police.
Police said the ambulance was assigned to a call for service when it was involved in the crash. The two crew members were evaluated at the scene and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident prompted the temporary closure of Lake Wallkill Road while utility crews completed necessary repairs. The roadway has since reopened to traffic.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the Vernon Township Police Department. No additional information was immediately available.
