Ptl. Michael Fournier retires after 21 years of service with Roxbury Township Police Department
ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – After 21 years of dedicated service, Police Officer Michael Fournier has retired from the Roxbury Township Police Department.
His career began in 2002 following his service in the United States Navy, where he was stationed on the U.S.S. Hue City as a sonar technician and deployed to the Persian Gulf for Operation Enduring Freedom.
Upon joining the Roxbury Township Police Department, Ptl. Fournier quickly earned a reputation for his professionalism and dedication. He began his career on patrol, receiving numerous letters of appreciation from citizens for his service. In January 2007, Ptl. Fournier transitioned to the Traffic and Safety Bureau, where he became the longest-serving member of the unit.
His expertise and commitment to traffic safety led to his role as a key member of the Morris County Fatal Crash Team, assisting in the investigation of fatal accidents. Throughout his career, Ptl. Fournier’s strong work ethic, advanced training, and “team-first” mentality were evident, as he filled in to assist patrol functions and the Detective Bureau during staffing shortages.
Ptl. Fournier’s contributions to both the Roxbury Police Department and the Morris County community have left a lasting impact. His leadership and humor will be missed by colleagues and community members alike. The department wishes him all the best in his future endeavors.
