21-year-old killed after car strikes parked tractor-trailer on I-78 in Hunterdon County

UNION TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A 21-year-old Maryland man was killed early Sunday morning when his car struck a parked tractor-trailer on Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.

Troopers responded to the crash at about 3:34 a.m. on I-78 west near milepost 15.4 in Union Township.

A preliminary investigation found an Audi driven by Jourdain Nicholson, 21, of Riverdale, Maryland, was traveling west when he lost control, ran off the right side of the highway and struck the rear corner of a parked tractor-trailer, Lebron said.

Nicholson sustained fatal injuries in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available.
