4 charged with forgery, receiving stolen property in Hunterdon County
CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Four men have been arrested following an investigation at the TD Bank located at 1705 Route 31 in Clinton Township, according to Police Chief Thomas A. DeRosa.
Eric Lee, 40, of Locust Grove, Georgia, Lee Beriro, 18, of Forest Hills, New York, Trevor Lewis, 34, of Bronx, New York, and John Vallejo, 26, of Paterson, New Jersey, were arrested and charged with forgery, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy, DeRosa said.
The investigation began on November 21, when police responded to the U.S. Fuel station, located next to the TD Bank, for a report of suspicious activity involving a vehicle potentially involved in criminal conduct. Upon arrival, officers observed one of the involved vehicles leaving the parking lot, while a second vehicle attempted to exit as well, DeRosa said.
Further investigation revealed that the suspects had conspired to commit bank fraud and were in possession of stolen and forged bank checks, DeRosa added.
The four men have been released, and the case remains under investigation, DeRosa said.
