Pedestrian killed, another seriously injured after being struck while crossing street in Morris County

FLORHAM PARK BOROUGH, NJ (Morris County) – A pedestrian was killed and another seriously injured after being stuck by a vehicle in Morris County on Monday morning.

The crash happened just after 11:00 a.m. at the intersection of Ridgedale Avenue and Brooklake Road in Florham Park Borough, police said.

According to police, a vehicle turning south onto Ridgedale Avenue from Brooklake Road struck two pedestrians who were walking east across Ridgedale Avenue.

The driver, who was not injured, remained on scene and spoke with investigators, police said.

Both pedestrians suffered serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital where one later died, police said.

The vehicle was impounded for further forensic analysis. The Morris County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist with processing the scene due to the severity of the injuries, police said.

This crash remains under investigation and no additional details will be released at this time, police said.

“We are truly saddened by the unnecessary loss of a community member today,” police said.
