Hunterdon County Department of Health announces 2025 Wellness and Nutrition programs

FLEMINGTON, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Hunterdon County Commissioner and liaison to the Department of Health Shaun C. Van Doren, announced a series of Health, Wellness and Nutrition programs to be offered in 2025, at the Public Health Nursing (PHN) facility located at 1 Walter Foran Boulevard, in Flemington.

These programs aim to enhance the overall well-being of Hunterdon County residents by providing access to vital health services, educational resources, and supportive community initiatives.

“The launch of these programs reflects our commitment to maintaining and improving the strong health and wellness of our community. We are happy that the Department of Health can offer a variety of opportunities that cater to the diverse needs of our residents, empowering them to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives,” Van Doren said.

The 2025 program will include a Brunch & Learn Program, to be held on the 3rd Friday of every month (except for April which is the 2nd Friday). There will be 2 sessions for the seniors to choose from, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

PHN will also be offering a 4-Part Nutrition Series, that will meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, for the period of May through August, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. This series will be presented by Nourish & Thrive Nutrition Center.

All programs are free and available to residents of Hunterdon County with disabilities and seniors 60 years of age or older. Blood pressure screening will also be available for those interested.

Programs are presented by healthcare professionals and are meant to emphasize, encourage and promote healthy behaviors, disease prevention and chronic disease management.

Commissioner Van Doren shared, “These programs have and will continue to make a positive impact on our community’s health, by providing accessible and comprehensive resources that support our residents in their journey toward better health and wellness.”
