Hackettstown receives NJ Tourism Industry Association Partnership Award for inaugural NYE Blast event

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County)Hackettstown has been honored with the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association (NJTIA) Partnership Award for its inaugural NYE Blast event.

The prestigious award was accepted on Wednesday by Darren Tynan, Chairman of the NYE Blast Committee; Jennifer Bongiovanni, Site Administrator for Mars Hackettstown; Laurie Rapisardi, Executive Director of the Hackettstown Business Improvement District (BID); and Lt. Edward Blas of the Hackettstown Police Department.

Held on December 31, 2023, the NYE Blast event brought together approximately 14,000 people to celebrate Hackettstown’s vibrant community. The highlight of the evening was the iconic M&M’s® ball drop at midnight, made possible by a generous donation from Mars Wrigley. This unforgettable celebration successfully ushered in the new year and showcased the town’s unique spirit.

“We are thrilled to accept this prestigious award and thank everyone who contributed to making this event a success,” said Tynan. “We look forward to another incredible event this year and continuing to create lasting memories for our community.”

The NJTIA Partnership Award was presented during the NJ Tourism Industry Association 2024 Annual Conference at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City. The award is a testament to the exceptional teamwork and collaboration between the Town of Hackettstown, the Hackettstown BID, Mars Wrigley, and the Hackettstown Police Department, Tynan said.

Hackettstown is already looking forward to another exciting NYE Blast this year, continuing to bring the community together for memorable celebrations. This year’s event will be held from 8:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. in Downtown Hackettstown, featuring fun, entertainment, and an M&M’s countdown to midnight on Dec. 31.
