NJ State Police trooper involved in Route 31 crash in Warren County

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A State Police vehicle was involved in a two-car crash on Route 31 in Washington Township Thursday night, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Charles Marchan.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that at around 8:14 p.m., a trooper was exiting a parking lot on the southbound side of Route 31, near milepost 40.5, in an attempt to initiate a motor vehicle stop when the State Police vehicle struck a car traveling northbound, Marchan said.

Minor injuries were reported at the scene, Marchan said.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was available.
